Lead instructors have various responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Ensuring the course title, description, and profile is current and accurate;
  • Acting as the liaison for adjunct faculty who are teaching the course; 
  • Reviewing adjunct faculty syllabi before the course begins;
  • Selecting the textbook and supplemental material for the course; 
  • Ensuring the textbook and supplemental material is used for all sections of the course; 

Lead instructors are responsible for the Course Video Creation.  This is a 3 minute video explaining the what the course is about and the items that will be taught in the course.

Lead instructors are responsible for the Assurance of Learning process.  This process includes:

  • Coordinating the course content and assessment method with all instructors for the course;
  • Detailing the course learning objective (ie. the measureable attribute for the learning goal)
  • Specifying the course assignments where the students' work on that assignment will/may be used for outcomes assessment; 
  • Indicating the assessment method(s) which is used to determine if the students have met the course learning objective; 
    • Direct Method: A measure based on students demonstrating their knowledge or skill for the specific learning objective;
    • Indirect Method: A measure based on individuals providing their opinions about the learning that occurred in the course/program;
